Payment Posting Specialist
Location: Chatsworth, CA
Full-time in office. Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm
$23.00-$25.00 per hour
Job Description
As a Payment Posting Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately posting payments, adjustments and charges received daily. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment, and will need to be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask effectively. You will also need to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately post transaction (payments and adjustments) from various sources daily, including Electronic Remittances, paper checks, EOB's and Patient Portals.
- Adhere closely to the department's payment reconciliation process.
- Prioritize work to maximize turn-around time.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards in the completion of daily assignments and accurate production.
- Maintain an error rate in accordance with departmental policy.
- Answer and respond to external and internal phone calls in a timely manner.
- Check and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-year medical billing or payment posting experience.
- Demonstrated computer and math skills.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
