Responsibilities
Operate all cleaning and sterilization equipment in the department. Pick supplies for case carts. Wrap metal ware. Has working knowledge of infection prevention and sterilization practices, principles and techniques. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Requires basic computer skills.
Education
H.S. graduate with a Sterile Processing Certificate. CRCST Sterile Processing Certification preferred.
Must obtain CRCST certification within 12 months from hire date.
Qualification/Skills
Previous Central Processing, Instrument Processing or Surgical Tech experience preferred. CRCST Central Processing or Surg Tech certification is preferred. No other Central Processing certifications will be accepted.
Excellent organizational skills. Ability to speak, read, write and understand fluent English. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. High physical and mental demands necessary.
Work Schedule
40 hours a week
- Day and night shifts (starts times typically 0700 and 2300)
- Up to every 3rd weekend
- SEIU union
- *** Training can take approximately 3 months and is typically scheduled on the day shift.
