Responsibilities Primary focus: Home visits for postpartum mom & newborns, newborn labs, breast-feeding support and education, and post c/birth wound care. Practicing independently in the home setting, communicating clinical findings to the team and providers Possible Antepartum home visits for IV therapy, fetal monitoring, skilled nursing assessments etc. Must own and drive a car with good driving history. Geographic location of homes visits: in all 11 + counties in the metro area.
This is a casual position not a cross trained position Education Licensed RN with preference of BSN and/or Public Health Nursing Certificate. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 5 years current inpatient obstetric experience in the care of the postpartum mother and newborn, providing ongoing education and support to the breast-feeding mother and newborn, drawing newborn lab (heel sticks) May include high risk antepartum/labor & delivery incl! uding fetal monitoring and IV skills. Prefer previous home care experience caring for antepartum and/or postpartum mother newborn patients in the home. Licensure/Certifications: BLS Driver's License License Required: RN Skills: Ability to practice Independently with excellent critical thinking skills.
Must have excellent communication with patient/families and the health care team. Antepartum experience (optional) Primary focus: Mother/baby postpartum assessments, breast-feeding assessments, education, support and care required. Basic computer skills - working daily with a computerized medical record. Prefer OB Home Care experience/PHN experience.
RN hires with less than 1 year of RN experience must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (American Association of Colleges of Nursing or The National League for Nursing) which is inclusive of a clinical rotation in an acute care facility.
