St. Joseph's recently completed an $85 million expansion that features some of the most sophisticated technology available.
Department Overview: OBSTETRICS Pre-term labor, labor and delivery and post partum care for mother/ baby at 34 weeks or greater in a family centered LDRP unit. Includes GYN surgical patients. 15 bed unit with average of 2-3 deliverys per day. Offer water birth option. Level II Nursery with 24/7 NNP coverage.

or Every other weekend) 2 shifts per 4 week schedule, one shift is an evening, night, or weekend shift. Primary Function:
& Major Responsibilities Serving as the key leader of the interdependent team, the RN is responsible to achieve patient and unit outcomes. The RN coordinates the care for a group of patients. This includes: comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on the needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; monitoring the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.
Utilizes the nursing process to coordinate and achieve outcome focused patient care.
Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team and other disciplines regarding plan of care.
Identifies and documents learning needs of the patient and family and provides individual! ized education.
Complies with regulatory requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies and procedures.
Participates in the development and achievement of unit goals (i.e. safety, cost, quality, satisfaction, and engagement).
Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.
Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all customers (i.e. patients, families, and physicians). Qualifications: Education:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
BSN/BAN preferred.
Current license to practice registered nursing in Minnesota.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
Experience:
1 year minimum Labor and Delivery, NICU or Level 2 Nursery is required. (depending on area that is needed.. Current BLS endorsed by AHA required. NRP obtained within 30 days of hire. Specialty Ce! rtification is a plus, twenty Hours documented breastfeeding education ! completed. Second language proficiency is a plus Regular/Temporary Status: Regular
