The neonatal nurse practitioner provides primary health care and emergency services to high-risk newborns and infants. This includes obtaining history, performing physical exams, interpreting lab, radiographic, and clinical data to assist in developing a plan of care for each infant under physician supervision. The neonatal nurse practitioner II will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with protocols and policies as consistent with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners, in addition to collaborating with nursing and allied health staff to help in providing family teaching and coordinating discharge planning.Successful candidates will be those who e! xemplify the welcoming, respectful & skillful behaviors that support our Company focus on excellence in health, wellness, customer service and a passion for lifestyle change.
Nurse Practitioner â€" Neonatal Nurse Practitioner â€" Advanced Practicing Nurse â€" Healthcare Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities: Improve and/or support others in improving the health, care and wellbeing of all children through excellence in patient care, teaching and research Elicit, record, & interpret a complete health history, including past medical, obstetrical, family & psychosocial aspects Perform comprehensive physical assessment of the newborn/infant, order and interpret laboratory, radiographic and clinical data in planning and documenting the course of management and discusses the plan with Neonatology Faculty, Fellows and consultants Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures necessary for the care of the patient. Make appropriate referrals in consultation with attending physician! for medical consultations, supportive services & regulatory reporting ! of patient safety Record and dictate interim, discharge, and transfer summaries Provide support as well as information regarding the infant's condition, progress, and plan for care to parents/family, referring and consulting physician Initiate emergency evaluation and treatment Coordinate plan of care and procedure with the patient's primary nurse Regularly perform high level invasive procedures such as umbilical line placement & biopsies Participate/determining conditions, resources, & policies basic to sound health care of the high-risk newborn Participate in the planning and presentation of continuing education programs for in-house medical & nursing personnel, referral hospital personnel and future RN's & Neonatal CRNP's Contribute to the body of medical and nursing knowledge through collaborative and independent research and publication Maintain clinical competency and keep informed of current trends and developments in neonatal nursing and related medical progress Par! ticipate in Neonatal transports from referral hospital by ground and/or air CareerBuilder related keywords: nurse practitioner, NP, N.P., R.N., healthcare, health care, family nurse, nurse practitioners, adult nurse practitioner, pediatric nurse practitioner, flexible hours, AVP, Advanced Practice Nurse
