Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic Psychology Nurse Practitioners to join our Mayo Clinic owned regional medical center. The Mayo Clinic Health System is comprised of 23 clinics and 6 hospitals in a 12 county area of southern Minnesota. Our hospitals, specialty centers and clinics are physician-led and team-oriented. Our growing regional practice serves a community of 300,000+. We have 270 (and growing) practicing physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners employed by our organization in Mankato and community medical centers throughout the region. We are the site of the Rural Family Practice Residency for the University of Minnesota.
Practice Oppo! rtunity Details:
- Two psychologists and one li! censed social worker on staff
- 40-multi specialty physician group, family medicine, internal medicine, OB/Gyn, general surgery, orthopedics, emergency medicine, etc
- Integrated clinic, hospital and nursing home (57 bed hospital)
- Patients are transferred to Mankato, Rochester, Sioux Falls or other areas for inpatient needs
- Conduct psychosocial assessments, make diagnoses, and provide treatment to individuals or groups with psychiatric problems
- Work with patient’s family by advising them on mental health care and lifestyle choices
- Provides a full range of primary mental health care services to individuals, families, groups and communities
- Function as psychotherapists, educators, consultants, and advanced case managers and administrators
- May also sub-specialize in such areas as child-adolescent mental health nursing, neuropsychia! tric nursing, forensics or substance abuse
- Prescribes medications when medically necessary
