Letter Delivery Operative [United Kingdom]

Location: Chelmsford
Contract Type: Permanent







Reporting to Agent / Capital Works Manager you will deliver leaflets / letters and post traffic regulation notices / orders for works associated with the Capital Maintenance Programme and other programmes of work within Essex Highways.
The Role
  • Delivering leaflets/ letters to residents of Essex.
  • Posting advertised Traffic Regulation Notices / Orders.
  • Ensuring Letters / Leaflets are correctly folded and in good condition.
  • Other Ad Hoc duties to fulfil the requirement of the role.

About You
  • Experience of driving for work desirable.
  • Experience in dealing with customers desirable.
-Able to cover a postal area of up to 10 miles within a shift -essential.
  • Current, Full Driving Licence essential.
  • Good IT, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Apply a systematic and logical approach in order to get things right.
  • Retain a formal and professional manner, reflect on difficult situations and stand back from people and remain unemotional in order to resolve problems.
  • Be alert to changing situations, show flexibility in approach, adaptability in difficult circumstances and continuously strive to achieve a result.
-Be non-confrontational when handling or involved in conflict situations and in order to achieve agreed and acceptable standards and timescales adopt a passive and non- demanding working ethic.
