Responsibilities :
Perform prior-authorization for inpatient acute rehab patient candidates, perform / complete retro certifications for prior MA pending cases in queue, perform ordering of supplies, including use of P-card, support clinical liaison in supporting entry of data. Perform other duties as delegated.
Qualifications :Education/Expereince:
HS diploma or equivalent; BA or BS in Healthcare or related field preferred. 3 plus years experience in inpatient and outpatient healthcare setting; prefer experience working with clinical staff and administration in inpatient and outpatient healthcare setting prefer experience with payer/manager care UM/UR requirements. Knowledge of SKRI Rehabilitation function and medical terminology. Medical Terminology required.
Skills:
Ability to manager/coordinate project-oriented work among many care providers and administrative support staff. Ability to direct questions and issues to the appropriate party for resolution/strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of the FRG, CPT, HCPCS, ICD coding systems. Knowledge of general health plan requirements with respect to patient access and care delivery (e.g., authorizations, certifications, reject/denials). Ability to review rejects/denials and research causes and solutions to improve (e.g., Third Millennium reporting) Ability to generate timely, accurate and usable reports related to patient activity and payer requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team setting. Ability to support creation and ongoing management of departmental databases; uses multiple software packages. Medical terminology knowledge/ability to call insurance company to explain reason for admission and obtain authorization.
Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule :
Part time (20 hours per week). Day shift. Work Schedule varies. Non-contract.
