Responsibilities Individual is responsible for the facilitation of peer review activity for approximately 10 physician departments at Abbott Northwestern Hospital Works individually to review peer review cases to determine if they meet established criteria for physician peer review Works collaboratively with physician leaders in assuring cases are appropriately distributed to physician reviews, cases are evaluated and out comes established and recorded Records and tracks all levels of peer review activity in database in order to establish trends or concerns that need further analysis proactively by physician leaders This peer review data is used in Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) and in the reappointment process as required per medical staff rules and regulations and Joint Commission requirements This person also CO-coordinates the OPPE process for Allied Health Providers Success will be demonstrated by evidence of ongoing peer review activity and reporting of peer review process outcomes necessary for OPPE and reappointment purposes Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelors Degree in health care or related field required Masters Degree preferred Minimum 5 years healthcare experience, previous quality and or peer review experience prefer Medical Terminology Skills: Knowledge or regulatory standards Meeting facilitation skills Ability to work with a variety of software tools to develop meaningful/useful reports out of data Ability to assess situations and issues in order to know when to elevate concerns to physician and operational leadership skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Full time position (40 hours per week) Day shift Non contract Location/Community Information Minneapolis boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a place to call home whether on a lake, golf course, or in an adjoining suburb.
