Responsibilities
Cleaning tasks are performed according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
Cleaning frequencies are maintained as scheduled.
Quality inspections are rated at a satisfactory level based on the established standards.
Potential and actual safety hazards are identified and reported.
Report building item, furnishings, and equipment in need of repair and replacement.
Completes assigned tasks, projects and items as designated by supervisor within their job classification.
Was te collection frequencies are performed as scheduled.
Waste handling is performed according to hospital policies and procedures.
Infectious waste handling and packaging is performed according to State and Federal guidelines.
Equipment life is prolonged through proper use and maintenance.
Chemicals are utilized effectively in a safe and efficient manner.
Supplies are utilized in a cost effective manner.
Makes sure EVS employees are properly equipped and supplied with essential tools and personal protective equipment.
Coordinates the workflow among employees within the work area.
Conducts 10 inspections daily, 40 per week.
Ensures issues are corrected as required.
Ensures areas are cleaned and restocked as per department protocol.
Facilitates Bed Throughput, Discharge and Transfer cleaning requests as instructed.
Provides technical and functional directions and support to employees.
Completes end of shift report to communicat e all activities, needs and issues from daily EVS operations to leadership.
Education
High School graduate or GED
Qualification/Skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to interact well with patients and families and work effectively with other team members
Ability to function in a high paced, complex and ever changing environment
Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
Work Schedule
(270) 3:00pm-11:30pm (Wed, Thr, Fri, Sat, Sun â€" every other week)
