The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Obstetrics Department (OB) setting assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and supervises nursing care for nursery, obstetric and gynecology patients in accordance with professional standards of obstetric nursing and policies and procedures of St. Mary’s Innovis Health (SMIH). Utilizes nursing process and a sound knowledge base relative to the specific populations served.
Qualifications (minimum requirements)
Must have current Registered Nurse license through the State of Minnesota.
Must be CPR and NRP certified or become certified within six (6) months.
Education and/or years of experience required:
Qualifications Preferred*
1 year previous experience in n! ursery, obstetric, or gynecology nursing.
STABLE, ACLS cer! tification desirable.
Equipment or Machines used on the job*
Must be competent in use of various types of equipment to include, but not limited to the following: fetal monitors, suction machines, oxygen equipment, computer and other electronic or mechanical equipment related to patient care. Manuals and operating instructions are available for equipment needed.
