Description: Park Nicollet is currently seeking to employ Sonographer, Perinatal right now, this position will be placed in Minnesota. Patients scheduled at the Perinatal clinic are at a higher risk than the general population for complications with their pregnancy. These complications include congenital anomalies or specific disorders, and therefore require more intense and detailed screening. High level diagnostic obstetric ultrasound examinations that surpass the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine guidelines are essential to achieve this task. This position requires extensive anatomical and physiological knowledge in regard to the fetal heart, brain, face, soft tissue organs, limbs and extremities that go beyond the expectations of standard obstetric ultrasound examinations. In some cases, the management of the pregnancy may require urgent medical intervention, increasing the demand to work patients into an already busy schedule. Whereas it is the responsibility of the general obstetric or general ultrasound department to refer complicated cases to the Perinatal office for further investigation, it is the responsibility of this department to very carefully screen for prenatal detection and diagnosis of anomalies so the perinatologist can offer final recommendations that potentially improve the outcomes of the pregnancy.
Graduate from a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). At least 2 years of obstetric ultrasound experience preferred. Nuchal Translucency and Fetal Echocardiography experience desirable.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:
1. Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Ob/Gyn. 2. Experience in Fetal Echocardiography desirable. 3. Certification in Nuchal Translucency Ultrasound desirable. 4. Must be willing to participate in continuing education to remain abreast of technical advances as they occur 5. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Additional Information
OB ultrasound experience required. Perinatal experience and NT certification preferred.
