Determines Operating Room surgical instrument needs for surgery cases and sets up surgical instrument trays. Decontaminates! and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation.
Decontaminates, cleans, processes, assembles, sterilizes, stores and distributes surgical instruments for Surgery and Obstetrics for Fairview Ridges, Fairview Southdale, Fairview Lakes Regional, Fairview Northland Regional and University of Minnesota Medical Center East and West Bank. Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and medical staff in the Operating Room regarding surgical instruments.
Qualifications
Required: Graduate of an accredited Central Service or Surgical Tech Program including training in instrument processing and assembly within the last 3 years, or two years work experience in assembly and sterilization of hospital operating room surgical instruments.
Required Experience: No years of experience required if a graduate in a Central Service or Surgical Tech program. Two years work experience in assembly and sterilization of hospital operating roo! m surgical instruments if not graduate from a program.
