Academic qualification for admission to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medicine Graduate Program is required. 
 Applications are encouraged from veterinarians with at least 1 year of experience in a private or academic clinical practice setting.

 Duties/Responsibilities 
 Duties during this three-year residency program will include two days per week of reproductive and clinical work on the college's large dairy teaching site and the St Paul campus dairy. Residents will be involved with professional DVM student training [i.e. Obstetrics laboratory, Obstetrics, The!   riogenology laboratories, and clinical rotations (Dairy Therio!   genology and Dairy on Farm Clinics)]. Furthermore, residents will develop and conduct training programs for herdsmen of the client herds. The successful applicant will work principally with faculty of the dairy unit of the Veterinary Population Medicine Department and will also have access and contact to large animal hospital faculty and faculty in the Department of Animal Science. The successful applicant will be required to apply for and complete a Masters in Science program within the Veterinary Medicine Graduate Program, to be concluded within the three year residency program (i.e. a combined Residency/MS program).  Program/Unit Description 
 The University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine is recruiting applicants for a position as Resident in Dairy Production Medicine. The three year program will involve specific training in dai!   ry related topics (i.e. Dairy Production Medicine, Dairy Theriogenology, Dairy on Farm Clinics), large animal surgery, food animal disease and diagnostics, epidemiology, biostatistics, and other areas of interest of the resident. Furthermore, the resident will be required to conduct a research project in an area related to dairy production medicine and publish the results before the conclusion of the residency program. This experience will significantly add to the person's expertise in dairy production medicine, large dairy herd management, and food production systems.
