Responsibilities Responsible for the care of acute mentally ill patients in a multi-disciplinary setting Requires the ability to provide physical and mental assessment and care Some of the reponsibilities include: Patient assessment Milieu mangement Delegation to team members Documentation in the automated medical record Interface with MD and families Crisis intervention Admit & discharge Medication administration Crisis management Primarily working with adult mental health patients, must be willing to work with the Child / Adolescent population as well Education Minnesota Nursing License BSN or BAN preferred ANCC Psychiatric Nurse Certification a plus RN hires with less than 1 year of RN experience must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (American Association of Colleges of Nursing or The National League for Nursing) which is inclusive of a clinical rotation in an acute care fa! cility. Qualifications Experience: 2 - 3 years of inpatient acute care Mental Health experience is required Medical nursing experience is highly desirable Must be comfortable with restraint/seclusion episodes Skills: Charge nurse experience highly desirable Previous experience with automated medical record preferred Looking for candidates with excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail Must be able to work in a multi-disciplinary setting and have excellent conflict management in addition to good listening and communication skills Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary setting and be able to apply the nursing process Basic computer skills are necessary Licensure/Certification: BLS Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Part time: 32 hours/week Day/Evening Shift: 7:30am - 4pm, 3:30pm - 12am (Midnight) Every other weekend MNA Contract Location/Community Information Minneapolis boasts being both cosmopolitan yet small enough that you can find a pla! ce to call home whether on a lake, golf course, or in an adjoining subu! rb.
