Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of over 40 board-certified physicians providing care to a rich patient mix involving regional, national, and international patients. The Division of Gynecology comprises a consultative practice with areas of special focus including colposcopy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, complex contraceptive care, and care for gynecologic cancer survivors. All Ob/Gyn specialties are represented in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The department also supports 16 residents and 15 fellows through five ACGME/ABOG accredited training programs.
We are seeking an academic OB/GYN with expertise and interest in colposcopy to join our multidisciplinary team. Our colposcopy group cares for over 1,500 women per year, and includes referrals from ! our region and beyond. The colposcopy practice maintains a clo! se working relationship with the Department of Pathology and the gynecologic oncology practice and follows national guidelines as established by the ASCCP and ACOG. The position will be primarily office-based and focused on preinvasive lower genital tract disease, with opportunities to pursue interests in other areas of gynecologic care. We seek to grow our practice by establishing collaborative relationships with the Mayo Clinic Health System, which is comprised of health care facilities in over 70 communities in the Upper Midwest. Research endeavors are well supported by strong departmental and institutional resources, including a Center for Clinical and Translational Science Activities as well as the Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery.
Qualifications: Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible OB/GYN physicians, preferably with prior practice experience in an academic setting. Clinical experience in colposcopy and treatment of preinvasi! ve cervical disease is preferred, including surgical management. Experience in the use of laser for treatment of lower genital tract disease is preferred. Candidates with interest and expertise in vulvar disease or areas of benign gynecology conditions are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should expect to progress in academic rank through an appointment to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine with opportunities to secure teaching and examining privileges. Candidates will have dedicated time to participate in leadership roles according to interests in practice, research and education. Development of a research program in lower genital tract disease will be encouraged.
