Responsibilities
Role includes time spent in both direct patient care responsibilities and program work for the hospital wide pain improvement initiative
Consult and round on inpatients with pain issues
Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, physicians, nurses, and other specialties to promote and advance the best care possible for the patient
Pain patient population - Serves as a leader/consultant/mentor/change agent in advancing the practice of nursing to ach! ieve quality, cost - effective patient/family outcomes for pain management hospital wide
Disciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions and programmatic changes that address system problems and patient/family care issues related to pain management
Designs and delivers education to promote better pain management to an interdisciplinary audience
The scope of responsibility includes leadership, clinical practice, consultation, education, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and a masters degree from a program that prepares certified nursing specialists
ACLS certification required
Previous experience as a CNS required, pain experience preferred
Must be willing to obtain pain certification

Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
Part-time: 32 hours/week
Day Shift
Every 4th weekend: dependent on number of staff in the department
