This position assists the registered nursing staff in caring for patients by performing routine duties within prescribed limitations. May perform such duties as taking and recording vit! al signs, administering injections, assist clinicians, prepare patient education materials, assist with lab and radiology duties, and assist with patient referrals.

Qualifications:
·

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

·

Current Minnesota LPN license required

·

Previous clinic experience preferred

·

CPR certification

·

Strong interpersonal skills

·

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

·

Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Job Responsibilities:
·

Rooms patients

·

Assists clinician with procedures

·

Administers medication (including injections)

·

Prepares patient education materials

·

Patient education using preprinted materials

·

Patient intake data collection

Â! ·

Checks patient vitals

·

Chart do! cumentation

·

Telephone recording and reporting of conditions to clinician

·

Patient referrals, internal and external

·

Manages supplies and equipment in department; re-orders according to department use

·

Stocks rooms daily

·

Maintenance reporting

·

Accurate reporting of patient information to clinician and RN

·

Maintains a safe work environment

·

Maintains adequate inventory in working area

·

Performs necessary quality control in all areas and follow up with corrective action as needed

·

Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment

·

Performs tests on blood, body fluid, urine, and stool specimens

·

Keep accurate records of tests, quality control and maintenance performed

·

Prepares specimens for delivery to external labs
·

Performs phlebotomy as needed and process specimens appropriately

·

Instructs patients in proper collection procedures for those specimens that must be collected at home by the patient

·

Evaluates quality control date, proficiency data, and quality assurance data as needed

·

Reviews all laboratory procedures and policies on an annual basis

·

Assists with the evaluation and development of new or improved test systems

·

Assists with training new employees

·

Attends the Fire Safety/Universal Precautions in-service as directed by Quality Services

·

Maintains a respectful working relationship with all co-workers

Qualifications:
·

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

·

Current Minnesota LPN license required

·

Previous clinic experience preferred
