Under the supervision of the Practice Manager and in collaboration with the Medical Directors, coordinates and maintains daily operational a! ctivities of the practice, to include patient flow and staffing, to maximize patient satisfaction and service for all customers. Responsible for implementing performance / quality improvement and customer service initiatives to create a superior patient experience.
Job Functions
1. Maintains oversight of daily activity to assure efficient patient flow.
2. Ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff, and maintains compliance with all safety requirements impacting areas of responsibility.
3. Determines and justifies staffing needs. Appropriately staffs, trains and coaches employees to maintain efficient and effective operations.
4. Provides support for physicians in resolving problems and addressing issues so that they can effectively practice medicine.
5. Works collaboratively with physicians and staff to improve optimize efficient and effective operations.
6. Promotes a congenial work environment! among physicians and practice staff based on mutual respect
7. Establishes and monitors performance / quality improvement activities in the practice to comply with organizational expectations for providing effective care and efficient, patient-centered service. Engages staff in monitoring activities and facilitates staff selection of appropriate indicators
8. Demonstrates and fosters good customer service skills to promote optimal patient satisfaction.
9. Provides input to Practice Manager in preparation of budget to ensure appropriate fiscal and human resource management of the practice
10. Oversees procurement and appropriate maintenance of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
11. Assures on-going compliance with accreditation, credentialing, regulatory and professional standards, as well as HCMC policies and procedures impacting the clinical area.
12. Assists Practice Manager in promoting and developing marketing activities to ensure continued practice growth and market share. !
13. Other functions as assigned.
Communication:
1. Maintains effective working relations through strong communication skills up, down and across the organization.
2. Meets with entire staff on a frequent basis, to do the following:
-- Disseminate information.
-- Give employees opportunity for input and problem solving.
-- Focus on actions taken in such meetings.
3. Follows-up with e-mail, department newsletter, and postings of important information.
4. Works closely with Medical Director and encourages and fosters participation of all physicians in running an efficient and effective clinic operation.
Fiscal Management:
1. Assists the Practice Manger in developing and managing the budget.
2. Monitors supply use and staff use of overtime and develops suggested plan of correction where appropriate.
