Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with research methods including usability studies, interviews, and surveys.
  • Experience in an applied research setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience leveraging a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis techniques in highly diverse interdisciplinary environments.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers across product areas/teams.
  • Experience with hardware and software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Ability to turn research insights into actionable recommendations for product roadmap and strategy.

You’ll explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and conduct UX research to inform requirements, evaluate concepts, and assess usefulness and usability of projects.
  • Communicate research agendas clearly with cross-functional partners, understanding and balancing business requirements and technical constraints with user needs.
  • Drive changes through research. Make research findings convincing and actionable for research experts and non-experts.
