Reporting to the CNO/ Nursing Vice President this position provides leadership and direction for the operations, clinical and financial perfo! rmance of the Obstetrics and Neonatal Services at Fairview Southdale Hospital (FSH). The service line encompasses the following areas: Antepartum, Labor and Delivery, OB Triage (Maternal Assessment Center), Obstetrical Operating Room (OR/ PACU), Post Partum, Newborn Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Lactation Services, and Obstetrical Retail Services. As a member of the nursing director team, there may be other accountabilities as assigned.
This leader contributes to and executes the vision for promoting clinical excellence and program growth in a highly competitive marketplace. In collaboration with other leaders, ensures that high quality services are provided within professional regulatory and accrediting body standards, and that overall clinical performance of the service line meets or exceeds national best practice benchmarks. Ensures operations function at top levels of efficiency, and exceed customer expectations. Accountable for viable financial performance! of obstetrics, neonatal, and other areas as assigned. Develop! s and administers policies and procedures, operating and capital budgets. Responsible to assist the CNO/Nursing VP with planning and management of initiatives and tasks which advance nursing strategic and operational work. May be assigned single or multiple projects having high impact on Maternal & Children’s Services at FSH and across Fairview Health Service
Job Qualifications:
Minium Education:
Bachelor's Degree, (if BA is non-nursing then must have Master's in Nursing)
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree, Nursing
Master's degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration.
Minimum Licensure:
Current RN licensure in the state of MN
Minimum Experience:
5-10 years experience managing a large, complex nursing department in a hospital based setting.
Preferred Experience:
5-10 years experience Perinatal Services (OB and /or NICU). - .
