Position Summary:

Director of Operations applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve both common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.

This individual should be capable of assessing existing processes to identify inefficiencies, determining areas requiring additional team members, monitoring performance metrics, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and designing appropriate compensation structures.


How the Director of Operations fits in:

The Director of Operations works closely with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure that the organization is well-positioned in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment by being a partner for ongoing organizational change. The position is responsible for the management and oversight of the Special Markets: Dental Service Organizations (DSO), Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS); Private Practice Insurance Billing (IB), Insurance Verification (IV), Patient Billing (PB), Credentialing and Call Center/Scheduling. Additionally, this position is responsible for the processes and function of daily revenue cycle management workflows. The DOO will oversee daily operations, including supervising the operational team's performance in order to achieve the company's strategic objectives.

Director of Operations is responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to assure success in strategic objectives, financial management, human resources management, leadership, quality, and operational management objectives. Director of Operations participates in organizational development and performance improvement. The Director of Operations will demonstrate core values and deliver on expected competencies with respect to the company’s mission and vision.


In this role, you will:

  • Build operational structure to drive cost efficiencies and scale future growth.
  • Build a growth model, which includes processes and platforms, that will decrease labor costs through offshore and automation.
  • Identify and structure processes that can be standardized for offshore support.
  • Identify headcount for stateside and offshore labor.
  • Identify processes that can leverage technology and automation, determining Minimal Viable Product with consultation of the Director of IT and COO.
  • DSO Relationship Leader: Build the DCS presence with the DSO executive community.
  • Formalize Credentialing business model and offering.
  • Lead research and development of Credentialing SaaS product.
  • Evaluate labor cost savings and R&D tax incentives in relation to training and technology.
  • Responsible for operational workflow management and production targets.
  • Reviews performance against operating plans, standards and team members involved. Provides reports to subordinates or interpretation of results and approves changes in the direction of plans.
  • Client management that results in top-notch client experience, as well as a positive work environment, fostering a pattern of long-term team retention.
  • Develops specific short-term and long-term plans, processes, and programs, together with supporting and evaluating Operations budget.
  • Reviews operational projects involving major functional changes within the organization’s functional areas and creates change management plans for approval by the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates, recommends effective personnel action.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes and assures implementation of regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and mediate interdepartmental problems/issues and takes corrective action in a timely manner and promotes respectful responsive communication between departments.

Compensation:

  • $100,000+ salary commensurate with experience
