Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound scans in accordance with provider or radiologist orders
- Ensure technical quality
- Perform quality assurance requirements and record data in quality log
- Maintain room cleanliness in accordance with the Allina Health Rooming Standards for Primary Care / Specialty Office Visit policy
- Follow safety and infection control processes and procedures
- Perform equipment maintenance as required
- Participate in daily start up and/or shut down procedures
- Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain adequate patient medical information/data
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Ultrasound Technology
Qualification/Skills
Experience
- Minimum of one year ultrasound experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to:
- Utilize customer service skills in order to positively impact the experience of care for our patients, external customers and internal service partners
- Establish and maintain effective communication and excellent customer service skills
- Communicate and work within a team environment effectively
- Stand for long periods of time with some bending, stooping, and stretching
- Lifting patients to a maximum of 32 lbs. except in an emergency (i.e. patient falling)
- May lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
- Keyboard & navigate within an electronic medical record work environment
Licensure/Certifications
- Basic Li fe Support certification (per American Heart Association guidelines) prior to start date
- ARDMS Registered, OB/GYN and Abdominal certification preferred
- For AIUM sites, OB/GYN certification required
- Nuchal Translucency certification may be required depending on site
