Minimum Requirements: BA or BS degree in business, nursing or health care related field. Minimum 5 years experience in credentialing and/or medical staff management.

In partnership with the Chief of Credentialing ensures that quality Physicians and Credentialed Practitioners are positioned and maintained system-wide within the organization through the development, implementation and on-going review of credentialing and privileging standards and processes.

Educates and advises Physician and Operational Leadership on the selection of quality Physician and Credentialed Practitioner candidates.

As experts, evaluate, consult, facilitate and offer advice to Peer Review groups, TRAC. In support of system quality provides consultative and evaluative opinion to Quality Leadership and the Board of Directors.

Serves as an administrative partne! r to the Chief of Credentialing to define and monitor quality ! standards across the Health Systems.

As a Credentialing expert facilitate and advises the DC Credentials Committee on adherence to the structured and defined process for the organization.

Establishes and maintains a partnership with external governmental and private health plans while maintaining a formal process of evaluations, self-reporting and monitoring of Physician and Credentialed Practitioner activities.

Facilitates performance evaluation and communicates Physician and Credentialed Practitioner quality indicators in support of Credentialing and Privileging operations for practice management to comply with licensure, board certification requirements, state and federal standards, accreditation and payer participation standards of medical and health care practice.

Provides active participation in issue resolution processes, including coordinating and directing activities of investigation of Physician and Credentialed Practitioner con! cerns and issues.

Oversees periodic monitoring and auditing of credentialing and privileging activities; educates and collaborates with a variety of colleagues in support of credentialing and privileging process.

Facilitates peer review and performance management processes for the Physicians and Credentialed Practitioners across the Health System.

Manages the operations of the Credentialing department.

Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include:
Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

  • Performs focused interview to identify specific patients needs.
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and inf! ormation from health care members and documents actual and/or potential! nursing diagnoses.
Qualifications include:
  • Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.
  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable).
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
  • One year prior professional nursing experience preferred.
  • Current BLS card.
