Leads the operational and fiscal activities of the department. Plans and develops systems and processes to improve the operating quality, safety and efficiency of the department. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and coaching employees in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Complies with regulatory standards. Works with the OB providers to assure that OB services are coordinated across the hospital and ambulatory/clinic settings.
The OB Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall management of the OB Unit on a 24 hour basis for nurse practice and care delivery on the OB Unit.
The OB nurse Manager provides direct patient care as needed and understands the needs of neonates, yo! ung adults, adults and geriatric patients.
QUALIFI! CATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Graduate.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Graduate of an accredited program in nursing.
Current MN State RN Licensure.
Minimum of 5 years of OB clinical experience with charge nurse responsibility for 3 of those years.
Bachelors degree in Nursing required or equivalent education/experience to meet this requirement.
