The Role

The Operations Technician III should have a detailed understanding of Transmission DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), and TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols Acting as a team lead, performs tasks associated with the maintenance of company network service customers, and perform leadership tasks as needed (includes reporting disciplinary issues to management.) With a detailed understanding of telecommunications, the Operations Technician III, will be responsible for troubleshooting, managing and correcting customer service issues. Training more junior tech level personnel and have a working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems are expected.

This role is for a Day shift. Those hours are 6:00 am - 2:00 pm or 7:00 am to 3:00pm MST Monday-Friday.

The Main Responsibilities

With strong and specifically detailed analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize the workload, the Operations Technician III, must interact successfully with internal departments to remove roadblocks and resolve issues on the behalf of all customers and escalate appropriately. They must have strong written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, leadership, and technical peers. Must be able to develop strong relationships with technical peers, and have strong interpersonal skills necessary to leave a positive impression on the customers. Efficiently and accurately manages the ticket queue to ensure trouble tickets are progressing to a resolution. Help establish, document, and improve departmental processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ yrs related experience in specific area or equivalent.
  • May require technical certification.
