Administrative Coordinator

Under the general supervision of the Department Chair and the Department Manager, the incumbent provides administrative support and assistance to the Chair, and to the Department of Design|Media Arts, including management of course scheduling and planning, faculty meeting support, and program planning. Plans and coordinates public programs of the department including student exhibitions, visiting artist lecture series, and other special events. Coordinates promotional materials and activities, including the department website. Manages multiple tasks and duties initiated by the Chair in order to meet program goals.

1. Skill and flexibility in balancing and managing multiple and changing priorities, with constant interruptions, without sacrificing quality and accuracy. Ability to meet deadlines.

2. Ability to interface effectively with high-level campus administrators as well as faculty, students, departmental staff and the general public on behalf of the Chair and the department.

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills to explain complex policies and procedures at various organizational levels; willingness to work as a team with department staff and faculty.

4. Demonstrated skill in writing concise descriptive correspondence, minutes and reports using excellent grammar, punctuation and syntax.
