Responsibilities :Responsibilities:
Work with Peer Review and Quality and Patient Safety Department to coordinate peer review activities for 17 physician groups. Review physician cases to determine whether they meet established peer review criteria. Understand chronology of cases to effectively communicate with physicians on peer review issues. Collaborate with physician leaders to ensure cases are reviewed, evaluated, and outcomes established and recorded. Assist physician leaders in facilitating physician workgroup meetings. Proactively work with physicians to evaluate quarterly data to determine if there are trends or concerns warranting further analysis. Participate in quality performance improvement processes and initiatives as they relate to Peer Review and physician practice
Qualifications :Education and Experience:
Bachelorâs degree in nursing Masterâs degree preferred Minimum 5 years healthcare experience Previous quality or peer review experience preferred Experience working with physicians Knowledge of regulatory requirements helpful (Joint Commission)
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication Work independently and within a team to meet customer and department needs Meeting facilitation Critical thinking Ability to assess situations and issues and recognize when to elevate concerns to physician and operational leadership Familiarity with software tools (Excel, HDM) to develop useful reports
